Google suggests the death of PPC as we know it?

Posted on March 8, 2011

Google have released their new ‘Google Suggest’ feature. The new tool has a drop down box on their main search page which recommends search queries as the user types. Yahoo! implemented this feature some time ago but because of Google’s large search market share this has caused huge commotion amongst Pay per click specialists.
The feature caused a stir because no one is really sure how this will affect PPC. Will this mean that keyword lists in the future will have to be built to mimic the suggest tool? Will this eliminate misspelled search queries which can provide cheap volume? Or will searchers simple ignore tool and carry on searching in the same manner?
If people do start using the suggestion tool instead of their normal search pattern then this could make PPC landscapes even more competitive, which is great for Google but not for advertisers. Only time will tell what the average internet user decides.
